What shows are available to watch on demand?

All 4 offers a wide selection of programmes recently broadcast on Channel 4, E4 and More4, all freely available to watch on demand. We also offer a free and extensive library of both classic shows and more recent programmes, including complete box sets of some of our most popular series.

Why can't I find all US shows in All 4?

Channel 4 must acquire specific rights for some programmes, such as US shows, in order to show these on a particular All 4 service. Therefore it can't be guaranteed that all programmes will appear on all our devices.

What are the All 4 rules and guidelines?

Do All 4 programmes include advertising?

Programmes on All 4 are streamed with advertising before, and sometimes during, the show.

Can I skip the adverts on Android?

No, you can’t skip adverts. 4’s content is free to watch because we are an advertiser-funded broadcaster. As a government-owned, not-for-profit organisation, the revenue we make from advertising doesn’t go to shareholders, it goes back into making more programmes.

Can I watch All 4 in another country?

Rights agreements mean that our All 4 service is only available in the UK. Even if you are a citizen of the UK you cannot access the service from abroad, except to watch previously downloaded shows (applicable to iOS and Android devices only). Some of our programmes are available in the Republic of Ireland, subject to rights.

Who regulates All 4?

As of January 2016 All 4 is regulated directly by Ofcom. It is the designated regulator for editorial content of UK video on demand services that fall within the statutory definition of On Demand Programme Services. GETTING STARTED

How do I find a programme to watch?

You can search for content by accessing the different menu options from the home page:
The All 4 app home screen presents viewing suggestions from our editors.
Catch Up enables you to search for content by broadcast date.
Categories enables you to search for content by genre.
Box Sets enables you to binge on hundreds of iconic Channel 4 shows.
A-Z allows you to search for programmes alphabetically using the first letter of the show’s title.
Search enables you to find programmes by typing in the name of the show. A minimum of two characters is required to start searching.

When you have found the show you are looking for you will be taken to an Overview page, which gives you specific details about the programme, including broadcast date, channel and synopses for all available episodes.

Why are subtitles or audio description unavailable?

Subtitles are available for some, but not all, programmes that you either stream or download on to your Android device. Likewise, audio description is only available for some, but not all, programmes you stream. We look to introduce audio description for downloaded shows soon.

If you wish to view a programme with audio description, please ensure you are streaming the episode, and you have deleted any downloaded versions of the same show. Programmes with subtitles available will include a silver ‘S’ logo within the episode information. Programmes with an available audio description track will include a silver ‘AD’ logo within the episode information.

Can I get subtitles and audio description on my device?

Subtitles are now available on All 4, for both streaming and downloaded episodes. Audio Description is only available for streaming episodes. Subtitles will automatically be enabled if Captions are enabled within your device settings, otherwise they can be enabled by tapping the ‘S’ in the player controls when available. Audio Description is only accessible by tapping the ‘AD’ in the player controls.

Why can’t I see subtitles or audio description on my device?

Due to technical and operational reasons, subtitles and audio description are not available across all android devices and operating systems.

How do I link All 4 to my Google Assistant enabled device?
In order to use All 4 with the Google assistant you must first link your All 4 account with the Google account you use to access the Google Assistant (both on your mobile device or a Google Home device) To link your All 4 account: On your mobile device 1. ALL 4 PARENTAL CONTROLS

How is content restricted to ensure children and young people are unable to access unsuitable content?

The All 4 Android app provides access to content reflecting the broad range of programmes from 4, some of which may be unsuitable for younger viewers. Such content will have guidance notes displayed that provide warnings about the programme's content. Some content will also be assigned an age rating of either 16 or 18. In order to help you control access to our content we have provided the following options:

Instant Access: Each time you select a programme with an age rating you will be asked to confirm you are over 16 or 18 years of age, depending on the type of content selected.

PIN Access: By selecting this option you can set up an All 4 PIN number. Then if you (or someone else using your Android try to view a programme that is age rated, you will be asked to confirm that you are over 16 or 18 years of age depending on the type of content you tried to access, and will be required to enter your All 4 PIN.

I've forgotten my All 4 PIN. How can I reset this?

Please contact us via http://www.channel4.com/contact. A member of Customer Support will be in touch by email within 24 hours to provide instructions on how to reset your All 4 PIN.

How do I set up a PIN?

Go to the Settings section. Then select Parental Controls. The page will inform you that you can set up a PIN for either All rated content (16+) or 18 rated content (18+). Confirm you accept our Terms of Use and then create your 4-digit PIN. Finally, tap Enable PIN. This will set a new PIN.

How do I disable a PIN?

Go to the Settings section. Then select Parental Controls. The page will inform you that you have set up a PIN. Enter your 4-digit PIN and click on the Disable PIN button. This should disable your current PIN.

I've forgotten my PIN. How can I reset this?

Please contact us. A member of Customer Support will be in touch by email within 24 hours to provide instructions on how to reset your PIN.

How do I change the PIN setting?

You will need to disable your existing PIN and set up a new PIN at the other level. Go to Settings and then Parental Controls.

The page will inform you that you have set-up a PIN and the level at which you set it. Enter your 4-digit PIN and click on the Disable PIN button. This should disable your current PIN. Then select the level you want to set the PIN at, and re-enter your 4-digit PIN.

Do I have to sign in to watch programmes on All 4 on my Android device?

In order to watch any Catch up or Archive content, or to download, you must sign in to All 4.

How can I sign in to my Channel 4 account on my Android device?

You can sign in any time via the Settings section. Remember that if you are not signed in you will be prompted to do so every time you attempt to watch one of our programmes.

How can I sign out of my Channel 4 account on my Android device?

You can sign out of your Channel 4 account any time via the Settings section.

How do I reset my password on my Android device?

To reset your password, simply go to www.channel4.com/password via a device with a browser.

MY4

What is My4?

My 4 allows you to keep track of what you've watched, and resume play on unfinished shows. Shows you have completed watching are displayed in the ‘History’ tab within My4. Shows you are part-way through watching are marked with a ‘Resume’ label and appear in the ‘Watching’ tab.

How do I delete my viewing history?

Deleting viewing history for an All 4 user account can only be done online at All4.com. Sign in to your account and enter the My4 section of the site (all4.com/my4) to find your viewing history. This can be edited by clicking the ‘Edit’ button at the top of the page, and any changes will be reflected in the All 4 app up to an hour after clicking ‘Done’.

Why can't I pause live TV streaming?

The watch live feature only supports the live stream of the channel and cannot be paused. It is also not possible to rewind or fast forward the stream.

DOWNLOAD FOR VIEWING OFFLINE AND OVERSEAS

Do I have to be connected to the internet to download?

In order to download a programme, you must be connected to the internet via WiFi. Once programmes have been downloaded, you can watch them offline or overseas.

Do I have to register with Channel 4 to download?

You must have registered with Channel 4 and be signed in to your account to download programmes.

Why do I have to give you my postcode and house number?

Channel 4 is a not-for-profit organisation and our download service is funded with money made from advertising. Your address information could help us deliver ads that you find more relevant.

How long are the programmes available to download for?

The majority of downloadable programmes will be available to download for 30 days after broadcast.

Do I have to be connected to the internet to watch a programme I’ve downloaded?

You do not have to be connected to the internet to watch a downloaded programme. The main benefit of All 4’s download service is that once you have downloaded a programme you can watch it offline or overseas.

If I download a programme, how long do I have to watch it?

Once you have finished downloading a programme, you have up to 7 days to complete viewing it before it expires from your device.

I downloaded a programme and it won’t allow me to watch, why not?

If a programme is due to expire within the time it would take to play the complete programme, you won’t be able to start viewing it. (In other words, to watch an hour-long programme due to expire at 5pm you would have to begin watching before 4pm.)

Why can’t I download programmes from All 4?

Not all programmes are available for download but those that are will have a ‘DOWNLOAD’ button. The download service is available for iOS and Android supported devices. If you are able to get the All 4 app on your iOS or Android device then you will be able to download content - provided you have enough space on your device, you are signed in and have access to WiFi.

How can I update my address?

If you have changed your address and wish to update your profile, please go to www.channel4.com/myaccount.

My device won’t let me download and says there are space issues, how can I fix this?

Downloaded programmes are stored on your device. If the size of the attempted download is greater than the storage space available on the device you won’t be able to start downloading. You will first need to free up space on your device by removing items.

Why can’t I download programmes from All 4?

Not all programmes are available for download but those that are will be clearly marked with the download symbol. The download service is available for iOS and Android supported devices.

If you are able to get the All 4 app on your iOS or Android device then you will be able to download content - provided you have enough space on your device, you are signed in and have access to WiFi.

Why aren’t some of your US programmes available to download?

All 4 does not always have the same rights for all of our programmes. Some programmes aren’t available for download but all those that are will have a ‘DOWNLOAD’ button.

What programmes are available to download?

We have tried to make as much of our catch up content available for download as possible. Unfortunately, All 4 does not always have the same rights for all of our programmes. Some programmes aren’t available for download but all those that are will have a ‘DOWNLOAD’ button.

Is archive content going to be made available?

We are constantly reviewing our products and where possible archive shows will be made available to download.

How do I remove a programme from my device?

In order to delete a downloaded programme you need go to the Downloads > Downloaded page and then ‘long press’ the item. Do this by touching and holding your finger next to the episode information. The entire episode cell will be highlighted. To delete the item, simply click on the trash can icon that appears on the top right corner.

If I pause a download, how do I restart?

If you pause while downloading a programme you can restart by selecting the ‘PAUSED’ button or icon.

Where can I find out what is downloading?

To check whether your downloads are nearing completion you should visit Downloads > Queue page.

Where do I find the programmes I’ve downloaded?

To check your completed downloads you should visit Downloads > Downloaded page.

Can I download more than one programme at a time?

You can add as many items to your Queue as you like, but you can only download one programme at a time. Once it has completed downloading, the next item in the Queue will commence downloading.

How many programmes can I download?

You can download as many programmes as you like as long as you have enough storage space on your device.

Do you have a series link to automatically download the next episode of a series?

At this time it is not possible to series link downloads. This is a feature we will look at implementing in a future release.

What happens when the download expires?

When a download expires, you will no longer be able to watch that episode. Downloads are available to watch for seven days from the time the episode was downloaded. Once expired you can either remove the download or re-download the episode, subject to the rights still being available.

What happens if I lose my WiFi connection when I am downloading?

If you lose your WiFi connection when downloading a programme, it will move into a queued state. When you next connect to WiFi, the programme will automatically resume downloading.

What happens if I travel outside of the UK when I am downloading?

If you leave the UK when you are downloading a programme, it will move into a paused state. When you return to the UK and connect to WiFi, you will need to manually un-pause it in order to re-start the download.

Can I watch programmes I’ve downloaded outside the UK?

The main benefit of All 4’s download service is that once you have downloaded the programme, you can watch it offline or overseas.

Can I download programmes when I am outside the UK?

No, you have to be in the UK to download a programme. If you leave the UK while you are downloading a programme, it will move into a paused state. When you return to the UK and connect to WiFi, you will need to manually un-pause it, in order to re-start the download.

I live in the Republic of Ireland. Can I use the download service?

If you are able to get the All 4 app on your device then you will be able to download available content.

My address is not in your list, what do I do?

We derive your address from your postcode. We get your postcode from a Royal Mail list that is constantly updated, so it’s very rare that a house address is not included. Please check that you gave us the right postcode. If you still can’t find your address, please contact us at www.channel4.com/contact or visit www.channel4.com/help

I was streaming a programme and then decided to download, why did it not start from where I was watching?

The episode that you were streaming and the episode that you downloaded are actually two separate files so it’s not currently possible to carry your resume point between streaming and downloaded versions.

Do I have to be signed in to watch a download?

You do not need to be signed in to watch a downloaded programme.

If I delete a programme can I re-download it?

Yes. As long as the download is still available, you can download it as many times as you like.

Can I hear Audio Description on my download?

Audio Description is only available for some, but not all, programmes you stream. We aim to introduce audio description for downloaded shows soon. GOOGLE CAST

Can I use All 4 on a Google Cast Ready receiver?

You can now cast videos on your Google Cast Ready receiver from the All 4 app on Android phones and tablets (in addition to being available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows laptops and Chromebooks). Make sure you are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Google Cast ready receiver, open the All 4 app and tap on the Chromecast icon to connect.

Can I cast all content to my Google Cast Ready receiver?

You can watch all the latest catch up, free box sets, plus a huge library of recent, classic and online shows including Shorts. It is not currently possible to cast Clips and Extras. Channel 4 must acquire specific rights for some programmes in order to show these on a particular device, therefore some shows may not be available to cast

What are the minimum operating requirements for casting All 4 content?
• You will need a broadband internet connection with minimum speed of 3Mb.
• You will need a Google Cast Ready receiver plugged into the HDMI port on your TV. You may also be able to use the Chromecast built-in feature of your smart TV or games console.
• You will need to be running Android version 4.1 or newer.
Accessibility options with Google Cast

It is not currently possible to watch programmes with subtitles or audio description when casting media on Google Cast. You will need to disconnect from Google Cast and watch locally on your computer or mobile, if supported.

Can I cast All 4 content in another country?

If I disconnect from a cast session can I resume locally?

We will save the resume point when you disconnect from the Google Cast Ready receiver, whilst the expanded controls are open. This means you can resume watching the episode on your local device.

MOBILE DATA

What does ‘Mobile data’ mean?

Mobile data is an internet source - such as GPRS, Edge, 2G, 3G or 4G - supplied by your mobile phone provider. Mobile data does not include WiFi. The amount of mobile data available to you will vary based on your mobile contract and is usually limited to a certain number of gigabytes of data each month. Please check the exact amount with your mobile service provider.

Is all All 4 content available to stream over mobile data?

Yes, you can stream all All 4 content that is available on Android over mobile data.

What does ‘streaming over mobile data’ mean?

When your phone is connected over mobile data (GPRS, Edge, 2G, 3G or 4G) and you click ‘Play’ on any All 4 video, that video will play (‘stream’) over mobile data, thereby consuming some of your mobile data allowance.

Can I download over mobile data (3G/4G)?

No, at present this is not possible. Programmes can only be downloaded via WiFi. However, if you start downloading over WiFi and switch to mobile data, the download will pause and resume when you connect to WiFi again. Programmes can be added to the download queue over mobile data.

Will I be charged to stream over mobile data?

All 4 is a free service and won’t charge you for streaming over mobile data. However, you may incur service charges from your mobile data provider if you exceed your data allowance.

How can I disable mobile data streaming?

You can disable mobile data in Android by going to the Data usage section in Settings and turning Mobile data to OFF.

What does it mean when I get a ‘Network connection unavailable or too slow’ message?

It means that the mobile data connection is non-existent or is not fast enough to stream video.

What does it mean when I get the ‘retry’ error message?

Clicking the retry button will attempt to establish your mobile data connection.

I clicked the ‘retry’ button on the connectivity error message but nothing happens. Why?

It means that a mobile data connection could not be established.

If my mobile connection switches from WIFI to mobile data, can I continue streaming/watching? Or vice versa?

Yes, you can stream on both WiFi and mobile data.

How much will it cost to stream All 4 programmes?

All 4 is a free service and won’t charge you for streaming programmes over mobile data. However, you might incur some costs if you exceed your mobile data allowance. Please check this with your mobile data provider.

What’s the difference between WiFi and mobile data?

WiFi is a short-range static wireless connection. To use it for internet access, your device must connect (over Wi-Fi) to a wireless router – such as the one at your favourite coffee shop that allows customers free internet access. Mobile data is usually available on your device as part of a paid contract or on pay as you go services. It allows you to browse the internet or stream content anywhere you can access a strong enough signal.

When I try and play a video, I get a ‘All 4 content is not available in your current location’ message. What can I do?

This is caused when your IP address is not in the UK (or appears not to be in the UK.) If you actually are in the UK, you can try turning mobile data on and off, which might resolve the issue. If this keeps happening, please contact your network operator.

When I try and play a video, I get a ‘Data not available’ message. What can I do?

Can I watch All 4 while overseas?

No. All 4 is only available in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man. (Note: there are parts of Dorset and Kent where, in some weather conditions, you get a stronger mobile data signal from France than the UK, even if you have a UK SIM. This may cause All 4 to think you are abroad.)

Can I watch All 4 on my UK SIM on roaming while overseas?

No, this is not possible. Rights agreements mean that our All 4 service is only available in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, (although not for all programmes in ROI).

Why do I get a black screen with audio still playing out in the background when I am watching a programme?

The All 4 application automatically detects the best available bandwidth to play out the most suitable quality video/audio format. If you are in an area with low Wi-Fi or Mobile Data connectivity, the application will detect this and send a lower quality video stream. The lowest quality stream is audio only. As soon as the application detects you are in an area with better connectivity, a higher quality video stream is transmitted.

Is all All 4 content available to stream?

Yes, you can stream all All 4 content over mobile data.

TECHNICAL QUERIES

I live in the UK but when I try to use All 4 it tells me that I am outside that area. Why is this and what can I do about it?

All 4 uses geo-blocking software to detect where your device is located when it connects to the internet. Occasionally you may be accessing from the UK but the software mistakenly thinks your location is outside this area, and so blocks your access to All 4. This is most likely caused by the way your Internet Service Provider sets up and manages your account. We suggest you contact your Internet Service Provider and explain the problem, which they should be able to resolve.

Can I use All 4 when I'm not connected to the internet?

You can only watch All 4 when you are connected to the internet as it is a streaming service. However, on some devices you can download programmes to watch either offline or abroad.

Will my Internet Service Provider charge me for using All 4 on Android?

If your mobile device is connected via 3G/4G, your Network Provider may charge you for the amount of data you have used while watching All 4. You should check with your Network Provider if you are unsure about their charges.

Can I use All 4 when I'm not connected to the internet?

You can only use All 4 on Android offline to watch previously downloaded programmes.

What version of the Android operating system is required to operate All 4?

All 4 is available for download if your device is running the Android operating system 4.1 and above. For users running Android OS 4.0 or lower you can still use the older, legacy All 4 app. Please note this version is no longer supported and we encourage you to upgrade the version of Android in order to get the best possible experience.

Is mobile data connectivity supported?

Yes, you can browse and stream programmes using 3G/4G or Wi-Fi connectivity.

I am having problems with video playback, what can I do?

The first thing to note is that All 4 does not support rooted devices. If your device is rooted, video will not play. For supported devices, we suggest re-starting your phone or tablet and then trying video again.

Does All 4 work on rooted Android devices?

For security reasons and to protect the rights of our content partners, All 4 is not supported on rooted Android devices.

When watching content I see vertical black lines either side of my content

If you are seeing the vertical black lines during video playback in a widescreen mode, we are aware of the issue and working closely with our development team to implement a fix.

Why can’t I output what I am watching to a TV?

Outputting from a device to a TV requires specific rights, which we don't currently have for all of our programmes.

The app is displaying a clock error message. How can I resolve this?

In order to ensure your device clock settings are correct, please follow these steps: (1) Open Settings (System Settings), (2) Date and time, (3) Automatic date and time > select this setting, (4) Automatic time zone > select this setting, (5) If there is no automatic time zone setting, manually select the time zone setting as London / Dublin GMT+1hr. The device clock should get updated within a few minutes of making these changes, but it may take longer in some time cases. If you are still experiencing clock errors, please email Channel 4 Viewer Enquires at www.channel4.com/4viewers/contact attaching a screen shot of your device date & time settings (press Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time to make a screen shot), your device type/model and the version of the Android operating system on your device.

Introduction

Citrix Files for iOS allows you to browse files and folders from your Citrix Files account.

Download it today!


Supported Localization: German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Russian and Portuguese.


Requirements

  • Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch
 
TIP!
ShareFile for iOS is now Citrix Files for iOS. In the short term, you may notice some screens that continue to reference ShareFile. We will continue to update these screens over time.



 

Instructions


Getting the App

Download the Citrix Files App

The following steps explain how to download Citrix Files for your device and log into your Citrix Files account.
  1. Open the App store application on your device.
  2. Search for Citrix Files.
  3. Click Get.
  1. Click the Citrix Files icon to open.
  2. Enter your Citrix username and password.
Citrix Files opens displaying your folders.
 

Basic Operations

Create a folder

  1. Open Personal or Shared Folders where you want to create a new folder.
  2. Click the   + blue circle to open the menu. The menu displays.
  1. Select Create Folder from the menu. The Create Folder screen displays.
  1. Enter a name for the new folder and any notes in the corresponding sections.
  2. Tap Create Folder. The new folder window displays.

Upload files

  1. Navigate to the folder where you want to add files.
  2. Click the   + blue circle to open the menu. The menu displays.
  3. Tap Upload Photo or Video.
  4. Choose an existing file to load or tap Take a Photo (or Video) on your device.
    NOTE: You may be asked to allow Citrix Files to access your Photos
  5. Select the items you want to upload. Click Next.
  6. Tap Upload.
    NOTE: You may change the default File Prefix.
The files start to upload. 

Download files

  1. Navigate on your to device to the folder holding the file(s) you want to download.
  2. Tap the file. The download begins immediately.
  3. Go to your Photo app to view the downloaded file.

Sharing files

  1. Navigate on your device to the folder holding the file(s) you want to share.
  2. Tap the ellipses (...).
  3. Select Share from the menu.
  1. The following screen allows you to select either Email with Citrix Files or Get a Link. To use Email with Citrix Files feature, go to the next step. If you want to use the Get a Link feature, skip to step 10.
  1. Click Email with Citrix Files.
  2. Enter a Recipient for your message. You can enter an email address manually, or select users from your address book.
  3. Enter a Subject for your message. You may enter additional text in the Body of your message if needed.
  4. Edit Message Options allows you to customize the following:
    • Send me a copy of this email - Receive a copy of the email message
    • Email me when files are accessed - Receive a notification email when the file is Viewed or Downloaded
    • Require recipients to log in - Require that recipients log in with their Citrix account. If your recipient is not already a user on your account, they will be required to create a username and password before accessing the file.
    • Access expires - Set how long you want the download link to be accessible. If sending a file stored on your computer, this will default to the default length of time files may remain in the File Box
    • Accesses per user - Limit the number of views or downloads
    • Always link to the latest version of the file - This feature is only available to users with File Versioning enabled.
  5. Click Share when ready. A "File shared" message appears at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Select Get a Link.  Note that you can choose either the iOS messaging app or  the email app to send. For this, we will use the email application.
  7. Select Mail. The new message screen displays with the shared file link preloaded in the body. 
Follow the instructions for your Mail app to send the message that includes the link. The recipient will receive a message similar to this:

Delete files

  1. Navigate on your device to the folder holding the file(s) you want to delete.
  2. Tap the ellipses (...).
  3. Select Delete from the menu. A confirmation screen displays. 
  1. Tap the red Delete on the confirmation screen to delete the file.
A "File deleted" message appears at the bottom of the screen.

Direct to File Microsoft Integration

You may open, edit, export, copy, and save files stored on Citrix Files within Microsoft Office 365 apps. Steps may vary based on the app you choose.

To open your file with a Microsoft Office app, select the item in Citrix Files and select the Open in Microsoft... option. In order to access files stored on your Citrix Files account, you must first add Citrix Files as a location. Enable Citrix Files as a storage provider on the Account menu, or by navigating to the Open menu and selecting Add a Service. You may now select Citrix Files as a location. Once you have verified your credentials you may browse your account and select your file to open via the Microsoft app.

NOTE: This feature is not supported in MDX environments.



Once you have finished working on your file, save your changes. The updated version will automatically be uploaded back to Citrix Files.

NOTE: App Extensions are a feature of iOS 8. Please update your iOS to utilize this feature. This feature can only be used to open files stored in the Citrix cloud. On-prem files are not currently supported.
