Natsume has prepared the second “Feature Spotlight” video for Harvest Moon: Light of Hope. This time, we hear about the farming enhancements, and more specifically, Farming Friend.

Today, I’d like to focus on the farming enhancements coming in Light of Hope. As you can see from the video, we’re focusing on speeding up gameplay, with the ability to till, sow, and water your crops faster than ever!

But the big exciting feature we’d like to focus on is your Farming Friend! What’s that, you ask? Well, it’s an icon that will appear after you sow, water, or fertilize your crops to let you know if you’re raising them at their full potential!

And that’s not all! One of the best things about your Farming Friend is that after you’ve harvested a crop, your Farming Friend will now display exactly what crop you’ll be harvesting! No more guessing in case you forgot exactly where you planted what crops. And what’s more, if your Farming Friend displays a question mark over a crop you’ve already harvested, like a strawberry, you’ll know that you’ve succeeded in producing a MUTATED crop! Awesome!

In short, your Farming Friend is designed to make Harvest Moon: Light of Hope more user friendly and fun to play.
We hope the Spotlight Feature video sheds a little more “light” on this exciting new change to farming, and we look forward to seeing you again in our next Spotlight Feature segment!

Harvest Moon Light of Hope PC Game Archives

The Harvest Moon franchise turns 20 this year. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Natsume Inc. and Rising Star Games have announced Harvest Moon: Light of Hope. No release date was announced, but Harvest Moon: Light of Hope will be playable at E3 2017 in June. It’s coming to PlayStation 4 as well as PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch, making the first time a Harvest Moon game will be playable on PC and Switch.

“Harvest Moon: Light of Hope will set itself apart from other Harvest Moon titles with its depth, including a robust story and clear-cut goals,” said Hiro Maekawa, President & CEO of Natsume. “We set out to create a SNES-style nostalgic game with deep and meaningful characters and events, and we are excited to have our fans play it at E3 and tell us what they think!”

Light of Hope begins as you survive a shipwreck and wash upon the shores of a small harbor town, destroyed from the storm. Your job will be to help rebuild the town and restore the lighthouse by farming, gathering resources, and making friends.

There’s a lot more Harvest Moon content coming this year as part of the 20th anniversary. Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition and Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland are coming for PS4. Harvest Moon 64 is coming to Wii U. The first Harvest Moon mobile app, Harvest Moon Lil’ Farmers is also arriving this year, and is geared toward younger kids.

Considering how incredibly well indie farm sim Stardew Valley sold last year, this could be the perfect time for Natsume to go all in with Harvest Moon.

Harvest Moon: Light of Hope will be coming to PS4, PC, and Switch.
